Swenson Lervick attorney Greg Donahue (left) and Adam Becker of Viking Bank helped serve pork chops at the Alexandria Rotary Club’s Pork and Corn Jubilee August 15 at the Alexandria Fire Department.
This was the 53rd year of the event, and 2504 hungry folks enjoyed chops grilled with the help of the Douglas County Pork Producers and Wimmer family sweet corn. Other major contributors included Henry’s Foods, Roers’ Bakery, Long Prairie Sanitation, Beverage Wholesalers and Elden’s Fresh Foods.
The Jubilee is a joint project sponsored the Alexandria Rotary Club and the Alexandria Fire Department. Proceeds from the event benefit the fire department and the club’s many philanthropic causes, such as worldwide polio eradication and local scholarships.
